 New quarter, new sales tax rates and policies.

Notable transaction tax changes are taking effect on October 1, 2016. Of particular interest to tax wonks: residents of Washington, D.C. will start paying sales tax on Amazon purchases (there’s still time to shop tax-free!), and Airbnb will collect meals and rooms tax on behalf of Vermont hosts.

There are also new tax policies in California and Nebraska, and, as always at the start of a new quarter, plenty of sales tax rate changes.
