Mississippi tax rate changes, September 2016

 Mississippi sales tax rates.

Beginning September 1, 2016, the Houston, Mississippi, will levy a 2% tax on the following:

  • Gross proceeds of restaurants from the sale of prepared foods
  • Gross proceeds from room rentals for hotels and motels located in the city

The 2% tax is in addition to all other taxes. Additional information.
