Prepaid sales tax rates on fuel sold in Michigan are set to drop in September.

Prepaid sales tax rates for fuel purchased or received in Michigan are subject to change monthly. After months of steady rate increases, the rates will decrease for the month of September.

September 2016 prepaid sales tax rates for fuel:

Gasoline: 11.9 cents per gallon
Diesel fuel: 12.7 cents per gallon.
