Qualifying Energy Star appliances are exempt from Missouri sales tax for one week in April.

Missouri’s first sales tax holiday of 2016 begins soon. Each year, the Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday runs from 12:01 a.m. on April 19 until midnight, April 25. During this time, qualifying Energy Star certified appliances are exempt from Missouri state sales and use tax. Local sales tax may or may not apply. For guidelines and a list of eligible items, see Missouri sales tax holidays.

Well over a dozen states are offering tax-free products this year for a wide array of products, from guns to school supplies. Learn more at 2016 sales tax holidays.

While sales tax holidays help make certain items a bit more affordable for consumers, they create extra work for retailers. Point-of-sale systems must be changed, employees trained. Retailers who collect sales tax in multiple states must comply with multiple tax-free periods, which can be burdensome.

Sales tax software (Saas) allows retailers to seamlessly comply with sales tax laws in multiple states, facilitating sales and use tax compliance. Learn how it works.
